Meet an Inspirational KFC Woman: Lucila Cuello

March 11, 2021

At KFC, we are marking International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month by celebrating the thousands of women across our business who inspire and motivate us to be our best selves, make a difference, and have fun. Over the course of the month, we will be sharing profiles of a (very) small sampling of these inspirational KFC women. Today, we introduce you to Lucila Cuello.

What is your role at KFC?

Chief People Officer, KFC Latin America & Caribbean

What women have inspired you?

I was inspired and am extremely grateful to all the brave women that came before us and have paved the way to a world that, even if far from perfect, is a lot better than it was only 50 years ago. I have great admiration and love for the women in my family and my close friends whom I am lucky to have in my life, supporting and encouraging each other in so many ways. And lastly, I have great respect and appreciation for so many female leaders in our company: those at the global leadership teams, my every day colleagues and fellow CPOs, as well as our tireless, relentless associates in the restaurants. As I was trying to understand the impact of @HeartStyles in our markets, I had the opportunity to listen to some of their stories and witness the way they lead their teams wholeheartedly. I recall Alondra, RGM from Mexico, and Monica, Area Coach from Ecuador, as being absolutely inspiring and uplifting.

What does International Women's Day mean to you?

It’s a call to action and a reminder that there is still a long way to go. It challenges me to think of ways to make my humble contribution from my corner of the world, understanding that it’s a collective effort from all to try to make this a better world for everyone.
