Collaborating in the kitchen and over coffee

In today’s hybrid work environment, many of our teams enjoy the flexibility of commonly working from home, enabling a greater work-life balance. As a people-first organization, we greatly value in-person connection, so for three consecutive days each month our KFC Global team members gather at our Restaurant Support Center in Dallas, TX for what we call “Collaboration Week.”

In addition to soaking up team building time and hallway conversations, we huddle for a few hours as a global team to discuss updates across our business and people. This month, our Operations team did a huddle takeover and decided it was time for everyone to get up out of their seats and into the kitchen.

With gloves on and aprons tied, we got to work making our famous Original Recipe chicken by hand and reconnecting with the high standards and special techniques that help us share the joy of our finger lickin’ good fried chicken to guests across the globe.

We also sat down for a “Coffee Chat” with our new Chief Sustainability Officer Nira Johri. Through a series of questions, we got to learn about Nira’s career and professional journey that led her to KFC as well as the passion points that drive her personal life.

We wrapped the chat with a little show and tell as Nira shared her shoes from that day were made of repurposed plastic bottles and marine plastics. Now that’s walking the talk!
