Celebrating Women Who Lead: KFC Global Round-Up for International Women’s Day & Women’s History Month 2025
At KFC, we believe in building a culture where everyone is seen, heard and empowered — every day, everywhere. This March, in honor of International Women’s Day (IWD) and Women’s History Month (WHM), KFC markets around the globe proudly celebrated the contributions, strength and leadership of women across our restaurants, teams and communities. Here’s a look at how some of our markets showed up and showed out in 2025:
🌎 KFC Global / Yum! Brands – Celebrating Women Across Our World
Throughout March, Yum! Brands celebrated IWD and WHM with a strong focus on empowerment and leadership. In Asia, KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Habit Burger & Grill gathered under the #AccelerateAction campaign, featuring inspiring stories from industry leaders who emphasized courage, breaking barriers and the power of allyship. A central message encouraged "paying it forward" to drive progress.

Complementing this momentum, KFC Central and Eastern Europe CMO Hloni Mohope shared her personal experiences, professional growth and advice in a recent cross-brand panel discussion hosted by Yum!’s Culture, Opportunity & Belonging team. Kudos to women leaders from across Yum! Brands for sharing their stories and experiences.

In Texas, people from KFC and across Yum! Brands came together at this year’s Women's Foodservice Forum Conference, where they built connections, gained / shared insights and accelerated their leadership journeys among others in the food and beverage industry.

KFC India – #StoriesOfKshamata
KFC India spotlighted more #StoriesOfKshamata, a powerful initiative celebrating the resilience and strength of women from the KFC system and beyond. The Kshamata initiative was introduced in 2022 that aims to bridge gaps as part of KFC Global’s community impact strategy, Feeding People’s Potential. From team members breaking barriers to franchisees leading with empathy and strength, each story was a tribute to women rewriting narratives in the workplace and in life. The campaign lit up social media, spotlighting authentic voices and driving conversations around women empowerment.

KFC Africa – Leading Change from the Inside Out
KFC Africa marked IWD with a dynamic panel of women leaders from across the continent and launched its 2025 list of “Female Firsts,” drawing from each of the 22 Sub-Saharan Africa countries where KFC has restaurants. These women brought their insights, experiences and boldness to the table — discussing the power of leadership and mentorship. The celebration also highlighted how women across KFC Africa are driving change and fostering environments where women can thrive, from restaurants to the boardroom.

KFC Thailand – Boundless Leadership
In addition to the Girls Takeover activation at the KFC office in Texas, KFC Thailand also partnered with Plan International for a Girls Takeover, giving young women hands-on leadership experiences. These future leaders participated in real business projects, pitched their ideas to mentors and got a deeper look at how KFC operates in a local restaurant. The experience was filled with meaningful conversations about heart-led leadership and the power of youth-driven change.
