Celebrating our newest restaurant in Mongolia

April 01, 2021

KFC Greater Asia and our franchise partners Tavanbogd group recently opened our 14th restaurant in Mongolia! This is the first KFC built in the farthest northern part of the uptown of Ulaanbaatar.

The restaurant, located on Route 32, is Greater Asia’s first restaurant featuring the new “R.E.D. Corner Bucket” design. Guest arriving at the restaurant will be greeted by the all new exterior design that features a distinctive red perforated mesh and wooden rafters. The interior of the restaurant boasts a kiosk station with a hostess to promote ordering from the kiosks as opposed to a conventional front counter (although there is still a “stealth counter” for cash transactions), and a new furniture package including the iconic “string tie” chair design.

The restaurant is also special as it embraces several elements of Mongolia’s rich culture. The main design feature is a set of interlocking wooden rafters inspired by the skeletal structure of local tribal huts (called Ger Lattice). The most distinct piece is a “Colonel in Mongolia” hand-painted landscape mural done in a traditional Mongolian by local artist @zulaa_artist.

Congratulations to the entire team involved in bringing this beautiful restaurant to life!
